If you are interested in bass fishing a public fishing area near Savannah, Georgia, you must visit Evans County Public Fishing.
Located off Old Sunbury Road just about an hour drive from Savannah, Georgia, you will need to turn down the old country road.
Growing up around this area as a young boy, this was a place my family went to catch bream and catfish.
Remembering many times waking up at daylight to be the first ones at the gate.
As years went on, we had forgotten about this area as fisherman.
THE FISHING AREA
Evans County PFA is made up of 3 Lakes.
First, when you enter the gate and immediately to your right is an RV and Campsite Area.
As you continue driving around the gravel road you will come to the first lake (Bidd Sands).
Then as you keep traveling deeper into the planted South Georgia Pines.
You will come to a second lake called Lake Wood.
After leaving the second lake, you can travel to the rear of the area and find another pond called Lake Longleaf.
The total acreage of on public fishing area is 372 acres. This area as a lot to offer to the weekend sportsman.
Of course, all three lakes as different species of fish from bream to hybrid bass.
Just let me tell you, this is a great little fishing area to bring the family or to host a weekend bass tournament among fishing buddies.
If you are one that loves to camp for the weekend, this area as all you need.
The camping area consist of 22 campsites with electricity, water, table, and fire pit area.

The State of Georgia as also added a great little feature to this public fishing area as well called the Event Center.
It overlooks the big lake and can house your next meeting or family gathering.
