Springfield, GA.

First, if you are interested in kayak bass fishing small community lakes, then just head to Springfield, Georgia and you will find Bakers Lake.
Just about 20 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia, it is a small country town with a nice relaxing feel.
As you turn off Highway 21 onto Courthouse , you will see the fence that surrounds the park and lake.
They have provided you with a concrete boat ramp to access the lake with you kayak or boat.
Getting ready to fish Bakers Lake
Looking at the whole lake as I was unloading the kayak, it was going to be a tough fishery.
As most public community lakes in the Southeast part of Georgia, a lot of people use these public lakes.
Securing my gear in the kayak and off I went to paddling around the edge of the lake.
The edges where filled with Lily Pads and a little bit of a grass line which is a great place for bass to hang to ambush their prey.

Catching Bass
As a rule of thumb , when fishing lily pads, always use the weed-less techniques.
At this time , I began casting a white weightless Keitech Fat Swing Swimbait amongst the lily pads and grass.
Continuing down the edge the lake with no bites , I decided to paddle a furhter down the edge.
Making a few more cast and just like that a bass takes the lure and the fight was on.
Fighting the bass for a few minutes with on lookers that where exercising clearly gave them some entertainment.

My mind was beginning to wonder if this lake was going to produce a bass today.
Reaching back to get my Hawg Trough to measure the bass and talking with everyone that was looking on was a challenge.
After taking the measurement to entry the fish in my monthly Tourney X Bass Tournament put on by The Dugout Bait and Tackle.
It measure a whopping 13.50 inches which was a enough to enter in the tournament.

After measuring and takin a selfie with the bass it is immediately released back in the lake as we call this Catch Photo and Release.
Continuing to fish the rest of the lake without a single bite , I decided to call it a day.
Leisurely paddling back to the boat ramp, I thought to myself that this lake will definitely be back on the books during the early spring of 2021.
